Myrtle Beach golf club fittingCustom golf club fitting a player with a Frequency Matched set of golf clubs gives the player their best opportunity for greater accuracy and maximum distance. This will also help add the consistency needed for improved ball-striking. This consistency will give you the confidence needed to play your best golf now.

The Chuck Wike Golf School provides this service to our students through our state-of-the-art 10 Point Custom Club Fitting System; and no one point is any greater than the other. While most people think that the shaft and head are the only characterstics that matter in the golf club, we have come to realize that attention to detail will turn a good golf club into a great golf club if specifically built to that individual.

The 10 Point Custom Club-Fit System

  1. Head style
  2. Lie angle
  3. Loft
  4. Swing weight
  5. Grip size
  6. Grip material
  7. Shaft material
  8. Shaft length
  9. Shaft flex (straight line frequency matched)
  10. Set make-up

Most manufacturers make clubs that are designed to fit everyone. Meaning that in a standard set of irons, there is a possibility that there are different flexes between each iron. For example, you have clubs that differ in length in increments of 1/2 an inch. So if your 3 iron is 39 inches long then your 4 iron will be 38.5 inches long. Generally, most manufacturers build clubs so that as the clubs get shorter, the shaft gets stiffer. This equates to a different performance from each golf club. It may also explain why you hit some clubs better than others even though they are from the same set.

The Chuck Wike Golf School uses a system known as Straight Line Frequency Matching. This means each club is frequency matched to your hand speed. We know that as a club gets longer and further away from your body it must move faster. The only true constant in each individual's swing is your hand speed. With that in mind, your hand speed will not change from club to club. Therefore, there is no need for a change in frequency between clubs. Since players have only one swing, it becomes the club maker's task to build a set of clubs with one specific shaft flex based on the needs of the player. The Chuck Wike Golf School has recognized the need for your golf clubs to be built specifically for you and not for the masses. This is a great opportunity to have your clubs fitted and made just for you the same way a Tour player gets their clubs made just for them.

Before golf lessons with Chuck, my game was going downhill.  Now I am an 8 handicap and dropping.

Now that I have learned how to properly apply the five fundamentals, I can work on my golf swing.  Even though there is a foot of snow on the ground.
